World Cup qualifiers: Alex Iwobi breaks Stephen Keshi’s record in Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has equalled the record of former team’s captain, Stephen Keshi. The former Arsenal star earned his 68th cap in
Super Eagles 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon.

The midfielder has now equalled legendary centre-back Keshi’s record as the eighth-most capped player for the national team. Iwobi is now behind team’s captain, Ahmed Musa, former goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, ex-defender Joseph Yobo, former Chelsea midfielder, Obi Mikel, Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu, Muda Lawal and legendary midfielder, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

Techblogbase.com reports that the Super Eagles, again came from behind to record a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe on Sunday.

This is the second draw in the team’s two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The Super Eagles drew 1-1 with Lesotho in their first game of the qualification series in Uyo on Thursday.
